P&P Lesson 13 - Jay Payne - Cinema 4D - Dynamic Deformers Particles - Part 3

In this lesson we were introduced to dynamics & particle systems purposed for design processes.

The outcome from these workshops will be a series of design experiments
using Cinema 4D

In this lesson, we:
1. Set up Work Folders
2. Create modifiers for design purposes
3. Create materials & Environments
3. Create Particles Systems
4. Create Dynamics Systems
5. Render Artwork from experiments

1. Start a new file
Create 3 Polygons -
#1 / W=200 / H=2
#2 / W=70 / H=70
#3 / W=4 / H=200
Change Axis to +Z

2. New Materials
Luminance only
#1 = Grey / #2 = Dk Grey / #3 = Yellow
#4 = Orange / #5 = Lt Blue / #6 = Dk Blue
#7 = White / #8 = Black

3. Copy Square Poly 7 times
Add colour material to each square poly
Add Black material to #2 & #3

4. Add an Emitter
Rotate Emitter axis 90deg
Drag all poly's into emitter
Emitter / Angle = 60 x 60deg
Particle birth = 20x20
Stop Emission = 200f
Life = 500 / Speed = 100
Add Variotion to Speed & Scale
Tick Show Objects & Insatances

5. Play Timeline
Adjust Particle Seed for variance

6. Add Motext fo a title
(Post-Modernism)
Change Text Size (Height)
Posn / X=0 / Y=600 / Z=0 (ish)
Add Black Colour to Motext

7. Add A camera
Posn. X=0 / Y=850 / Z=0
Rot. H=0 / P=-90deg / B=60deg
Add a Light / Soft Shadow
Posn. X=0 / Y=800 / Z=0
Switch Camera on

8. Add Background
Add White Material to background
Render Settings / add Ambient Occlusion
Dispersion = 50% / Render
